Try out martial arts and fitness classes for the whole family
We are running a free open day on Saturday 10th April where you and your family can try martial arts and fitness classes to see what suits you. The Open Day will begin at 10am and showcase the different classes we have for offer through to 2.30pm.
There’s no need to book. Turn up and give it a go! Hang around and try a few!
Our Karate classes are for the whole family from ages 5 and up. In fact, as well as separate classes, we have classes where children and adults train together so that families that want to take part in something together can do so.
Karate is a traditional Japanese martial art which primarily concentrates on striking techniques. It teaches self defense, confidence and discipline. All while in a friendly, helpful environment.
Adults Jiu Jitsu
For adults, we teach the self defence side of traditional Japanese Jiu Jitsu with the focus on ground fighting, chokes, throws, arm and wrist locks, leg, foot & ankle locks, weapon disarming, submissions and much more.
“Ju” can be translated to mean “gentle, soft, supple, flexible, pliable, or yielding” “Jutsu” can be translated to mean “art” or “technique” and represents manipulating the opponents force against himself rather than confronting it with one’s own force.
We have Aikido classes for adults and children utilising body-taught techniques, free of tension and therefore, making training suitable for all people, male and female – regardless of size or strength.
Aikido focuses on turning movements that redirect the opponents attack momentum with primarily throwing and joint locking techniques.
Kids BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu)
For children, we have Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes where children can learn the core elements of this popular martial art.
The focus is primarily on taking an opponent to the ground, controlling them, gaining a dominant position and using techniques to force them into submission through joint locks or chokeholds.
Our program is for people of all ages to help make everyday life easier and more enjoyable, while also helping martial artists compliment their formal training!
Training is done barefoot using primarily just your body or light weights for exercises. Each session is different to keep your body adapting.
FIT2FITE is a harmonious marriage of Martial Art techniques rhythmically synchronised to the finest uplifting dance music to create an energy charged aerobic experience.
FIT2FITE is a non-contact martial art based aerobic experience. It incorporates proven fighting techniques and combinations that are versatile and stimulating.
